Rapid Energy Scotland Depot

Rapid Energy has opened its first Scottish depot in Dumbarton and partnered with Glasgow’s Gas Certification Company, as part of a new investment to create local jobs, strengthen critical services and develop engineering skills in Scotland.

The expansion follows investment in Rapid Energy by Baird Capital. It gives our customers in Scotland faster access to temporary heating and cooling, backed by a local team who know the region.

A permanent base in Scotland

Our new depot at Sandpoint Marina, Dumbarton is open and ready for business. It brings temporary heating and cooling equipment, and the technical support behind it, closer to the organisations that rely on it.

That means a quicker response when you face:

  • an unexpected boiler, chiller or HVAC failure
  • a planned shutdown or maintenance window
  • an urgent need for extra heating or cooling capacity

We support military sites, hospitals, local authorities, housing associations and businesses across Scotland’s industrial economy.

Creating jobs and investing in local talent

Job creation sits at the heart of this investment. We plan to recruit Scottish talent to support our growing operations. We are also investing in the equipment, infrastructure and skills needed to deliver dependable service over the long term.

“We are excited to invest in Scotland and, above all, in the Scottish people. Scotland has a world-renowned engineering heritage and a wealth of technical expertise. We want to build on that strength by creating skilled jobs, supporting local industry and investing in the people who will help shape our future.”

Training the next generation of engineers

We have partnered with Gas Certification Company Ltd, a Glasgow-based gas and renewable energy training and assessment centre. Together, we share a commitment to practical skills and to creating opportunities for engineers working in Scotland.

A Rapid Energy boiler will be installed in the centre’s training facilities. Around 500 engineers who train there each year will get hands-on experience with temporary boiler solutions. The partnership also helps us connect with Scotland’s engineering community and meet the local talent of the future.

“Our new depot will bring critical heating and cooling capability closer to the organisations that depend on it, from military sites, hospitals and local authorities to housing associations and industrial businesses. Working with the Gas Certification Company also gives us a practical way to support engineers, develop their skills further and help build the next generation of expertise in Scotland.”

Led by a local team

Our Scottish operations are led by Ross Irvine, who was born and raised in Scotland.

“As someone who was born and brought up in Scotland, I’m proud to be leading Rapid Energy’s expansion here. I know the strength of our local engineering community and how important dependable support is to Scottish businesses and essential services. Establishing a local team and depot means we can respond more effectively, build lasting relationships and create opportunities for people in Scotland.”
