Temporary Heater Hire for Car Manufacturing Plant

Challenges

• Poor insulation was causing significant heat loss throughout the picking warehouse.
• The frequent use of the loading bay doors made it difficult to maintain consistent temperatures.
• The heating equipment needed to be positioned carefully around ongoing site operations.
• The system had to respond effectively to temperature changes throughout the working day.

Our Solution

Following a detailed site survey, Rapid Energy designed an 800kW industrial heating hire solution using four 200kW indirect diesel-fired heaters.

• Four 3,000-litre fuel tanks were supplied to support continuous operation throughout the hire period.
• The heaters were positioned outside the warehouse, with 80 metres of ducting installed to deliver warm air into the picking area.
• Equipment placement was agreed with the on-site facilities team to minimise ducting routes and avoid obstructing access, loading areas and daily operations.
• Thermostats were extended into the building and set to activate the heaters when temperatures fell below 16°C, helping maintain a consistent working environment.
• The indirect-fired heaters provided warm air without introducing combustion gases into the warehouse.
• Rapid Energy monitored fuel consumption and arranged deliveries as required, helping prevent interruptions caused by low fuel levels.
