Tadley Community Primary School in Hampshire is a mixed-age school (ages 4-11) serving approximately 229 pupils. As with many schools, maintaining a stable and comfortable interior climate is essential for learning, wellbeing, and daily operations.
When a building services contractor was appointed to replace the school’s boiler system, they faced a major constraint: the works were to be carried out during term time, so heating and domestic hot water systems could not be taken offline. The contractor needed a solution that could provide full functionality, without disruption to staff or pupils. They turned to Rapid Energy, a trusted partner they had worked with previously, for a fast and reliable temporary boiler solution.
30 × 10m Steel Braided Gas Hoses
12 × 10m HTG Hoses (2″)
8 × 5m HTG Hoses (2″)
6 × 2″ HTG Camlock to BSP Adaptor Sets (Aluminium)
25 × 25m 240v 16A Single Phase Power Leads
5 × 240v 16A Plug Top Adaptors (Flyleads)
5 × 10m Cold Water Main Pipes (15mm)
10 × Heras Fencing Panels
5 × Heras Fencing Feet
2.5 × Pairs of Heras Fencing Clips
1 × Heras Pedestrian Gate (3.5m)
The site offered very limited space for positioning a temporary boiler system.
Safe access routes for staff and pupils had to be maintained at all times.
Installation needed to be completed quickly and quietly, ensuring minimal disruption during school hours.

To meet the project’s technical and logistical requirements, Rapid Energy implemented a carefully coordinated plan:
Specified a compact yet powerful solution. A 300kW slimline condensing boiler was selected to deliver reliable heating and hot water performance within the restricted site space.
Delivered a full turnkey package. The system was supplied with all necessary components, including hoses, gas connections, power leads, and secure site fencing, ensuring a complete and compliant setup.
Engineered for efficiency and safety. The temporary system was configured to provide optimal output while maintaining safe pedestrian access and adhering to all safety regulations.
Coordinated installation and commissioning. Our team managed the delivery, installation, and commissioning process efficiently, guaranteeing seamless integration with the school’s existing systems.
The temporary boiler was delivered, installed, and commissioned on schedule, providing uninterrupted heating and hot water throughout the project.
The slimline design proved ideal for the constrained site, allowing for safe installation in the limited space available while maintaining full heating capacity and reliability.
By combining rapid deployment with expert engineering, Rapid Energy ensured the school remained fully operational and comfortable for all 229 pupils and staff. The contractor completed the boiler replacement safely and efficiently with complete peace of mind that temperature control was handled by trusted experts.

“It’s always a pleasure supporting this contractor and this was no exception. A very well planned installation that Rapid are proud to have assisted with.”
