A residential property management company overseeing a high-rise development in Bath experienced an unexpected failure of its heating and hot water system late on a Friday evening.
The building serves over 200 residential flats, making reliable temperature control essential for occupant wellbeing and day-to-day living. With the issue occurring outside normal working hours, the priority was to restore heating and domestic hot water quickly while ensuring the temporary solution could meet the full demand of the site.
Rapid Energy was contacted to deliver an emergency temperature control hire solution with minimal notice and maximum reliability.
Following an initial remote assessment, Rapid Energy supplied a carefully specified rental package to support both space heating and hot water requirements:
250kW heating plates (x2)
4,500-litre fuel tank
180 metres of heating hose
50 metres of potable domestic hot water hose
The project presented several immediate challenges:
Out-of-hours call, restricting the availability of resources.
With the urgency of the situation, arranging transport for the equipment on short notice was critical.
Initial information from the client was incomplete, necessitating adjustments to equipment and transport plans.
Securing an available engineer for a weekend installation added further complexity to the project.

Rapid Energy’s approach focused on urgency, clarity, and support:
Conducted an immediate remote survey over the phone, enabling early specification of the heating hire solution
Confirmed the client’s critical needs and reassured them of full support throughout the process
Secured out-of-hours transport and organised delivery for Saturday morning
Arranged an available engineer to attend site and begin installation immediately
When site conditions differed from the original information provided, Rapid Energy rapidly adapted the rental package, sourcing emergency transport on Saturday to deliver additional hoses
Maintained constant communication between logistics, engineers, and the client to keep the project moving without delay
Despite limited resources and evolving site requirements, the team prioritised speed without compromising safety or performance.

The temporary heating and hot water hire solution was fully installed, commissioned, and operational by Saturday evening, less than twelve hours after the initial call was received.
This restored full heating and hot water services to over 200 residential flats, minimising disruption to residents. The system continues to operate smoothly and reliably while permanent repairs are completed, reinforcing Rapid Energy’s rapid response capability and technical expertise.
