Lyme Park is a historic estate in Greater Manchester, operated by the National Trust. Spanning over 1,400 acres of gardens, moorland, and deer park, the site also features a grand mansion that attracts thousands of visitors each week, particularly during the summer. With a bustling café and on-site catering facilities serving hot and cold meals, frozen food storage plays a critical role in day-to-day operations.

At the start of the busy summer holidays, Lyme Park faced an urgent issue when its walk-in freezer failed unexpectedly. With high visitor numbers and constant demand for frozen supplies, the breakdown posed a serious threat to food service continuity. Given the long lead time for a new freezer installation, a temporary cold storage solution was urgently required to ensure uninterrupted service and protect stock.

How We Helped

We deployed a 3-metre unit from our freezer trailer range to the site, ensuring it was delivered and set up quickly. The trailer was installed in a location that allowed easy access for staff and regular restocking, and within hours of arrival, it was fully operational.

The freezer trailer provided the necessary capacity to store frozen goods and was designed for rapid deployment and consistent temperature control. Throughout the entire 13-week hire period, the trailer maintained the required frozen storage conditions, ensuring that Lyme Park could continue to operate its cafés without interruption.
