At Rapid Energy, we’re proud of the people behind our service. Their drive, curiosity, and enthusiasm are a big part of what keeps us responsive, reliable, and ready to deliver dependable temperature control hire solutions when it matters most. Today, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our newest team members: Harry Bailey, our Internal Sales Apprentice.
Harry joined us just a few months ago, and he’s already making a strong impact. We sat down with him to hear more about his experience so far, what he’s learned, and what he’d say to anyone considering an apprenticeship or graduate scheme with Rapid Energy.

Getting Started
Q: Harry, can you tell us a bit about yourself and what made you decide to apply for the apprenticeship at Rapid Energy?
“I’m 18 years old, and honestly, I didn’t really know which industry I wanted to go into after leaving college. I knew I wanted something sales-related, though. When I learned more about the HVAC hire industry, it immediately caught my interest. It’s growing, it’s exciting, and I thought it would be a great place to start a career.”
Settling In
Q: You’ve been with us for a little while now, how have your first few months been?
“Engaging, intense in a positive way, and genuinely really enjoyable. I love how fast-paced the business is. I’m really enjoying developing in the sales role, and a lot of the time it doesn’t even feel like “work” because of the atmosphere and the people.”
Q: What kind of projects or tasks have you been involved with so far?
“I’ve been building quotes, answering inbound sales calls, and learning how to make outbound calls and build relationships with clients. I’ve been working on smaller projects to start with and learning a lot from my colleagues; they’ve been a massive help.”
Q: What does a typical day look like for you on the team?
“I take incoming sales enquiries, put together and send quotes to clients, and get involved with transport and operations when needed. It’s great because I get to see how everything links together across the business.”
Learning and Development
Q: What kind of training or support have you received as part of the apprenticeship?
“I’ve learned how to use systems like MCS for building quotes and managing client data. I’ve had lots of support in making sales calls, building confidence on the phone, and understanding the equipment in the industry, like boilers and chillers. A lot of that comes from shadowing colleagues and having structured training sessions each month.”
Team and Culture
Q: What’s it like working with the Rapid Energy team?
“Enjoyable and easy-going. Everyone is super helpful and really friendly, which makes the job so much better.”
Q: Have you had any mentors or colleagues who’ve really helped you settle in?
“Honestly, the whole sales team, operations, and senior staff have all been brilliant. Everyone has given me great advice, so it’s hard to pick just a few names. They’ve all played a part in helping me out.”
Q: How would you describe the culture here in three words?
“Fast-paced. Enjoyable. Fun.”
Looking Ahead
Q: What are you most looking forward to learning or doing next in your apprenticeship?
“I want to build more knowledge about the HVAC industry, understand the kit and operations processes better, grow my sales skills, and really get a deeper understanding of how the business works overall.”
Q: How do you think this experience will help you in your future career?
“It’s giving me loads of industry knowledge and helping me grow as a salesperson. It’s also developing me personally- the team and the company have already had a big impact on my confidence and experience.”
Final Thoughts
Q: What would you say to someone thinking about applying for an apprenticeship or graduate scheme at Rapid Energy?
“Definitely go for it- throw yourself into it. There’s massive development and growth to be gained. I think young people like me can benefit a lot from both the company and the industry.”

If you’re inspired by Harry’s journey and want to kickstart your career in a fast-paced, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you. Rapid Energy offers hands-on experience, meaningful development, and a team that genuinely wants you to succeed.
