Background and Objectives

On a busy Wednesday afternoon, Premier Inn Woking, a 170-room hotel located in the heart of the town centre, faced a sudden operational emergency. As one of the area’s most popular business and leisure hotels, it caters to hundreds of guests each week and operates a full-service restaurant and kitchen on-site.

When the hotel’s cold water booster pump suffered a catastrophic failure, water pressure was lost across the entire building, impacting showers, toilets, and catering facilities. With guests already checked in and more arrivals expected, the situation required an immediate and expertly engineered solution.

Knowing that time was of the essence a trusted building services contractor contacted Rapid Energy to deliver an urgent, temporary water supply system capable of restoring pressure across all floors and services.

Our objective was clear: to deliver and commission a fully operational temporary cold-water booster solution.

Equipment Deployed

To reinstate water supply quickly and safely, Rapid Energy mobilised a comprehensive range of high-spec equipment, tailored for potable water systems:

  • 1 × Cold Water Service (CWS) Pump

  • 10 × 5m Potable Water Hoses (Camlock)

  • 25 × 25m 240v 16A Single Phase Power Leads

  • 5 × 240v 16A Plug Top Adaptors (Flyleads)

  • 6 × 2″ HTG Camlock to BSP Adaptor Sets (Aluminium)

  • 5 × 2½” BSP to 2″ BSP Reducers

  • 5 × 2″ HWS Camlock to BSP Adaptor Sets (Brass)

  • 5 × DN50 PN16 Flange to 2″ Camlock Adaptors

Each component was selected to integrate seamlessly with the hotel’s existing infrastructure and maintain water quality standards suitable for guest use.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was time. Without cold water pressure, essential services such as showers, toilets, and kitchens were completely inoperable. In a busy hospitality environment, downtime wasn’t an option, even short delays would have led to major disruption, guest complaints, and potential revenue loss.

The solution needed to be designed, delivered, and commissioned in record time, with zero compromise on safety or performance.

Strategy and Execution
