Rapid Energy Business Development Manager Ellie presenting at a client meeting

At Rapid Energy, every day brings a new challenge, and that’s exactly how we like it.

We specialise in providing fast, dependable, and expertly engineered temperature control hire solutions across the UK. From emergency cooling for hospitals to planned heating for industrial shutdowns, our mission is simple: keep businesses operational when temperature control really matters.

Today, we’re catching up with Ellie Lloyd, one of our Business Development Managers, to find out what a typical day looks like in her world (spoiler: there’s no such thing as a “typical” day).

Morning: From Teams Calls to Site Visits

“No two days are ever the same in my role as a BDM at Rapid Energy,” says Ellie. “Some days I’m meeting clients, whether it’s over Microsoft Teams or face-to-face, discussing their temporary heating and cooling needs and finding the best solution for their site.”

That might mean speaking with a facilities manager at a manufacturing plant about a planned shutdown, helping a healthcare client prepare for the colder months with a temporary boiler, or supporting a contractor who needs urgent cooling during an HVAC failure.

When those calls turn into projects, Ellie’s next stop is often on-site, in full hi-vis and safety boots, conducting detailed surveys and getting a real feel for the environment. “It’s one thing to see a site on paper,” she says, “but being there in person gives you a true understanding of the challenges and how our equipment can deliver the most effective, reliable solution.”

Afternoon: Collaboration and Planning

Back on the road (or sometimes at one of our offices in Kent or Redditch), Ellie spends her afternoons working closely with the wider Rapid Energy team, from engineers and project managers to logistics and customer support.

“There’s always collaboration happening,” she says. “We’ll be planning upcoming installations, reviewing site survey findings, or checking in with clients to make sure everything is running smoothly. That communication between teams is what ensures our clients get the dependable, responsive service Rapid Energy is known for.”

And when the weather’s good? You might find Ellie setting up her laptop by the sea in Southend. “I like the flexibility that comes with the role,” she says. “As long as I’ve got my phone, my laptop, and a good Wi-Fi connection, I can stay connected with clients and colleagues wherever I am.”

Hear from Ellie

Although Ellie only joined the team a couple of months ago, she’s already made a strong impression. “It’s been a fast-paced start but in the best way,” she says. “The projects are varied, the clients are great, and I’m surrounded by a team that genuinely care about getting things right for the customer. That’s what makes this job so rewarding.”
