We were contacted by Unite the Union, located in Central London, to provide a temporary air conditioning solution for their 9-story office building. Due to ongoing technical issues with their existing chillers and AHU system, the building had been without operational cooling for some time. With summer approaching, they urgently needed a solution to maintain a comfortable environment for staff.

Solution
Following a detailed site survey, it was quickly determined that an external chiller/AHU system was not feasible due to space restrictions. Instead, we recommended a combination of local air conditioning units and evaporative coolers to effectively manage the temperature across multiple floors. Each room was measured for heat loss to ensure we specified the right equipment.
We proposed a flexible approach with the option to trial the solution on a single floor before proceeding to a building-wide installation. The trial was a success, reducing internal temperatures and improving comfort for staff. As a result, the client chose to scale up the solution across the entire building and enter into a 3-month minimum agreement, ensuring optimal cooling and energy efficiency.
