Our success has always been about more than the work we do, it’s about the people who make it happen. That’s why, as we closed out another financial year, the entire team came together at the stunning Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton for a day that was as inspiring as it was enjoyable.
A Warm Welcome
From 8:30am, colleagues began arriving to the smell of freshly ground coffee. The barista was preparing flat whites, lattes, and cappuccinos, creating a warm and relaxed start to the day. It was the perfect time to catch up with people from different departments, meet new colleagues properly for the first time, and admire the striking Rapid Energy logo ice sculpture – a fitting centrepiece for the occasion.
Reflecting on our Achievements
At 9:00am, everyone sat down together for breakfast, where a selection of scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, pastries and more was served. Soon after, the team gathered for the company presentation, where the senior management team shared updates on our progress over the past year. It was a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, recognise the challenges we’ve overcome, and most importantly, look ahead at the exciting opportunities in store for the upcoming year.
Inspiration from an Olympian
After the presentation, we had the privilege of hearing from James Cracknell, double Olympic gold medalist and six-time world champion rower. James spoke candidly about his career, his personal challenges, and how determination and resilience shaped his success. His words resonated with us all, reminding us that the right mindset and teamwork can help you achieve the extraordinary.
A Taste of Italy
By lunchtime, the energy was high and the atmosphere buzzing. We gathered around a long table in an outdoor seating area that overlooked the farm’s picturesque views. Over a three-course Italian feast, platters of antipasti, pastas, and roasted dishes were passed along and enjoyed together. The Violet Jive, a live jazz band, played amongst us, making it feel more like a celebration than just a lunch. It was a chance not just to refuel, but to truly connect as a team.
Team Building with a Twist
The afternoon was filled with laughter and some healthy competition through a team-building activity inspired by the TV game show The Cube. Split into five cross-department teams, we took on a series of timed mini-challenges that tested coordination, focus, and calm under pressure. We discovered hidden talents and saw new friendships form as everyone got stuck in. Two and a half hours flew by in what felt like minutes.
Rounding Off the Day
To finish, we gathered once more for small plates of comfort food – sliders, pulled pork rolls, potato tots, and mac and cheese. It was the perfect end to a day of inspiration, laughter, and connection.
Events like this are a reminder of what makes Rapid Energy special. We’re more than just colleagues, we’re a team that values each other, celebrates our wins, and looks forward together. We love putting on days like this, where everyone can come together, connect, and enjoy what being part of Rapid Energy is all about.
